Hey guys I put a set of LG street headers and x pipe on my 03 coupe a couple nights ago and I am having some issues. I also removed the A.I.R. system.
The car idles fine and runs good for the most part. The car starts misfiring or surging at low rpms when the engine is under load. Basically, if I switch from first to second early, or it makes me go from first to fourth it starts surging until I get the rpms up a little bit. If the engine isn't under load it revs through the rpm range perfectly. Once I am about 1200 rpm's it cruises fine.
I have put about 100 miles on it thinking the computer needed some time to recalibrate. But it hasn't gotten any better. I also don't feel like it made my car any more powerful.
I am going to get it tuned, but I can't get it done until next week.
I took of the cats, and ran extensions. I made sure to hook them back up the correct way. I also put new plugs and wires on while doing the headers.
Any help would be awesome. I am afraid something is messed up. Please let me know if anything like this has happened to anyone else... Is it normal?
Thanks for the response! I figured that removing the rear o2s would mess something up. But, I thought a lot of people did it the way I did and got away with not having it tuned.
