Fire Extinguisher Mount for Trunk Area

Per a previous thread I started about which seat side to install a Brey Krause fire extinguisher mount, I am now exploring a trunk mount instead.
I tried the seat mount and I don't like the idea of losing the plastic trim covers over the mounting bolts and my better half simply does not like it in the passenger area as she's afraid she will bump it, get her purse snagged (yep, that's what she said)
and the overall feeling that it is in the way.I thought about moving it over to the driver's side, however if I do that I still don't like the idea of exposing the seat mounting bolts and any aftermarket floor mat like those by Lloyds, need to be fitted under the seat mount, which is another reason I'm considering the trunk mount.
I really like the aluminum quick release mount that came with the fire extinguisher and I'm thinking about getting a matching aluminum section and then mounting the extinguisher on my trunk partition. I could drill holes through the partition and then using the existing mounting bolts simply screw and attach the mount using the secondary aluminum section on the other side of the partition for support.
Has anyone tried this or can someone offer me a better alternative? I know that by mounting the extinguisher in the trunk, I don't have immediate access to it like I do if it is mounting inside the cockpit, however it's still better than nothing.
Would love to see some pics of trunk mounted extinguishers for more ideas.
Thanks!

Did you also install the power seat stop guard? However, with my Lloyds mats, I would need to install the seat mount over them in order to keep them. No biggie, however I would still like to do something about the exposed seat hardware. I may pick up a second set of the plastic seat rail covers/ends and maybe attack them with a dremel and remove the interior facing sides so that I can still slip them over the mounting bolts and they still fit around the Brey Krause mounting bar.
Hmmm...

When you say "notched" does that mean cut? I have a dremel, however I'm not sure if I should just grind them down or cut into them. About how much plastic did you need to remove?

The ideal tool would be a band saw or table saw, but work with what you have.
You can also use a heat gun or hair dryer to smooth out the finish of the cut one you have it sanded to your liking.
