Default 01 owners do you....?

do you notice a fairly frequent buildup of carbon (black sootie stuff) on you exhaust tips. Got to clean mine every darn day! Does that mean I am running to rich or burning oil?

Same here...dry and sooty...clean it with a dedicated sponge and towel after each use.

I have not noticed as much on my 02, so far (2500 mi). I did however have to wipe off the exhaust tips on my 01 at least every other day :(

My guess is it was partly due to oil consumption I was getting 1000-1200 mpqt on the 01.

Yep, dry and sooty, only on the bottom lip of the two inside tips. I clean mine when it gets a bath. Takes about a day of driving to accumulate.

Nope, haven't seen anything like that, at least not yet. Then again, my '01 hasn't been burning any oil either.
