Never had a car worthy of showing, I've been going to these small local shows for years, even more fun with a car in the show
Didn't win anything, that wasn't the point
Most common comments? "What color is that?, or is that candy apple?"
Very nice! I love attending both Corvette and open car shows. If you go to meet other car enthusiasts and not to win small plastic trophies, you went for the right reason.
I used to go to WSCC TYPE 1 car shows to meet with other vetter's but you can not pay me enough money to go to one now. The only car shows I will do charity shows all day long.

Grats on your first showing!

I only go to charity shows as well.
All or pretty close to all shows are a shame. I am lucky to meet
1 or 2 % of the folks at these shows that know anything about
autos or vettes. You got to know someone in the show to win
anything and alot of the shows are very restrictive they will
hardly speak to you because they don't know you.
I have won 5 of 10 shows and have won several awards at one
show. They are still a shame. I have seen vettes that were far
superior to mine win nothing. It is not right.
Once in a while you might meet someone worth talking to.
I guess you know what I think of car shows.
I've been pleasantly surprised by how nice people are at the Corvette shows I've attended. I like to walk around and ask questions and answer questions when people approach me. Most of the time I have a really good time.
However, it's probably because I don't plan on winning. I know the politics involved. If car club ABC is hosting the event and car club XYZ shows up with 35 cars, chances are they are going to go home with the trophies based on simple math. Vice cersa when car club XYZ hosts the next show and car club ABC shows up with 40 cars.
I also shy away from the HP discussions. In the end, the guy who has the most HP is usually the guy who spent the most money. Sort of like the guy who wins most of the show trophies spent the most money on the Ecklers website buying every SS cover possible.

Sorry for the rant. You have a very nice looking vette.
To me YOU should of won a trophy!!
I saw this event in the local paper the day before and emailed the club organizer and was welcomed from the start. I was just a drive-up with no pre-registration and I was still greeted with honest enthusiasm by all of the staff. Kudos to North Valley Cruzzers for making me and everyone else feel welcome!
