Default Tires

I just had my tires checked today found out that inside my tires have rotted out from being parked, which I was prepared for thanks to the forum. I been reading on the forum about the expanding sizes and brands on tires. In Cody Wyoming it seems that they only offer two brands in the sizes for my Z06, Goodyear and Bridgestone. I am sure there are more. Question I have is what is the best tires for your buck? and where can I find them. Now this would have to be a place where I can buy them and have them put on. The tire places around here generally charge an arm and leg to mount and balance tires bought from other places or from online venders.

There are countless tires in your Z06 sizes. You have many choices. Have fun on sites like Tirerack.com just looking at all the pics, reviews and specs. Its actually kinda fun.

Just went to Tirerack.com and there were only two choices, Goodyear and Bridgestone. At least with matching front and rear tires. Am I missing something? Trying to find 295's for the rear is tough, plus if I have found a matching front and rear set, one or the other are on back order, like the Bridgestones. Go figure.

you need tires that are about 1" taller in the back than front so check out different sizes in different brands wider is better and you will find lots of brands that will work I have michelin pilot super sports awesome tires but I had to change rims.shop around you will find what you need

I found the same thing. Not any better luck with slightly bigger sizes. What am I missing here? I didn't think buying tires was going to be so difficult. HELP! AHHHHH!

Try Michelin Pilot Sport. Tire Rack shows them in 295 sizes as well as a matching from size of 265 (stock Z06 size tires).

you can also check discounttire.com, just ordered hancook v12's for the back, I bought hancooks for the front last spring, these tires come highly recommended on this forum. You can search by matching set for front and rear, just put your year corvette and search original equip, they have about 10 different tires to choose from

Not sure about your question, but drag radials are stupid in the rain and the wear is SHORT. Probably just a few thousand miles and they are gone.

Lots of fun for launch, not so much everywhere else.

That's what I figured.

Are the Nitto NT 555R II's a good choice?

I have always had a problem using Corvette and economics in the same sentence (there, I did it). My car came with a new set of Bridgestone Potenzas when I bought it at 25k miles. They are quiet, ride nice, grip well in heavy rain and appear to wear very good (8/32ths tread with 15k miles). I have had good luck with Michelin for years but because of my latest Corvette experience, Bridgestone will be my first choice for replacement.

Nevermind. Bad choice.

Here are the tire sizes I want to buy. Why can't I find them in Hancook's, Bridgestone, etc?

You'll find your tire selection considerably larger if you go with non-runflats. They'll also be cheaper, quieter and handle better.

I'm not looking for run flats. Just tires in those sizes.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You might also try looking at a 275 40 17 front tire with your stock 295 35 18 rear size. There are more choices of matching front and rear sets. I have seen this size tire used quite a few times.

I also like both TireRack.com and DiscountTiredirect.com for looking at tire choices and reviews. I have bought from both places with good results. I think they also can provide a list of installers in your area for you.

Well, it seems that every tire store I went to the tires that fit my car need to be ordered and are on backorder. I am still waiting for a call from sears hopefully that will have what I need without having to change my rims.
