Default New Tires

I know there has been many posts about tires but I'm asking anyway. For me the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP have been the best tire. I 'was' running 32psi in them but found out that was wrong??? The installer told me that was the correct pressure??? Anyway I am thinking I'll be replacing the rear's with a new set. But I don't want to make the same mistake in running the wrong tire pressure? I have tread left on the 'edges' but the center rib is worn down to the 'wear bar'. Sooooooo, what have you all found to be a successful tire pressure? I have heard from one that they ran 35psi and had even wear??? After running 32psi I would be afraid to run it at 35psi? I have a 99 but don't know if earlier C5 or later C5 would make for a difference in weight and tire pressure? Look forward to your answers.

thanks

The door sticker says 30 PSI. As to the guy running 35 with even wear, I would be curious as to how much weight he was carrying around in the car all of the time?!?!?

On my previous C5, I ran the tires that you are now and they were perfect at 30 PSI. No cupping on the fronts, and even wear across the tread on all four corners.

Doesn't a center wear pattern indicate (typically) an over inflation of the tires?

Not necessarily. No matter how perfect you have your pressure dialed in, if you tend to spin the rear wheels the center of the wide tire will expand (like you see a drag car do when its "up" on its wheels off the line) and you will get center wear.

Works for me, although my last set (same tire) was worn more on the center than the edges, but . . .I occaisonally get some wheelspin if Im exercising it a bit when entering the highway...etc.

If you never drive it hard, they will wear evenly at 30.

I've had Michlein AS and PS2 both ZP and they were both fine with even wear.

Default 30psi it is

I'll make sure I run 30psi from now on.
I'm a bit p.o.'d that I was told to run 32.
I've still got decent tread on the outer treads but the middle rib is about disappeared.
