Default bypass mod ?

I have a 99 frc, engine is stock aside from vararam and lg long tube headers (i think they are lgs) and no cats. When I purchased the car they had a set of the magnaflows 16732, they tone didnt sound bad at all, but they were just not loud enough. So I cut them off and I cut out the h so its completely straight now and have been running straight pipes ever since. I love how loud the straight pipes are are however its my DD and its starting to get annoying when cruising, and they are kinda raspy so I would like to get a little tone back, a deeper tone if possible, I was thinking about bolting the magnaflows back up but welding in the bypass like people do with the ti exhaust. Do you think this will quite it down at all at idle, cruising and still be ungodly loud under full throttle? thats what im searching for, any ideas or know any exhaust set up that would give me this ?

The bypass mod doesn't do a lot, or at least what I was hoping for. I did the bypass mod and liked it, but went and pulled the trigger on cutouts a bit later. Again, not the warm sound you are looking for, but nasty when open and civil when closed......or anyplace in between.

ok, I was thinking about going that route its just much cheaper to weld in a bypass, is there any way to make the c6 mufflers work with the wot bypass ? I cut the spare tire well out already to get an actual straight through flow and not have it snake around, so I do have a lot of clearance.

The spare tire well? Must have been a very special order, my car didn't get that option .

lol yea my bad I just didnt know what else to call it, obviously you cannot fit a spare tire in it but its what it reminds me of. how about, the circular cavity that is between the mufflers. yea that thing, I cut it out, rivetted a piece of aluminum in its place. good weight reduction too ! but ok sounds good I'll put the magnaflows back up and just order a set of cut outs, thanks for the input !

Wow! No way of telling without stripping the car and putting it on a chassis dyno but I'd love to know how much torsional rigidity was lost by cutting out that rear well.

Sorry to get off track here but that kinda hit me between the eyes when I saw it. Wow!

Now back to the muffler stuff.
