Has anyone considered leasing their Corvette? We have a dealer down in the Tampa Bay area offering 24 month leases with 1K down for under $450 per month. I am not sure but I think that is for 10K miles per year.

I am in the Tampa area as well. What dealership is this??

Veterans Ford. I think it might be a gimmick. They did just sell a 2007 Z06 with 24K miles for $43 which was a decent price. Someone out of state purchased the vehicle. They also just took in a 2011 Grand Sport for around $47K.
Boy that sure does not say much for Ford, when a dealer is going around picking up C6 and then lease them.

It surprises me that they can even offer a lease on a used car. I knew a time when that was possible, but not anymore. I know for a fact Ford Credit would not do this lease. I was just on the website and there is no mention on a lease for the grand sport they have.

For a daily driver, 15K is minimum and most of 'em are written up that way anyhoo. No trips!

Yep, no sweat...And I know, you know, they get pretty pricey per mile, when you go over the contract limit. The OP may want to reconsider and do more due diligence on this one.

Really never have thought about leasing a Vette. In fact, I've never really given leasing any car much thought. I guess leasing works for a lot of people though.
Why would you want to? It's renting it but with a longevity clause.
It works out to $11,800 for 2 years of use. That same money is most of what you can get a nice C5 for and you wouldn't have to give the C5 back in 2 years.
Is this leasing a c5? I wouldn't bother with a ~10 year old car.
Hell, my payments on my '03 are less than $450 a month, and then after I pay them I will own it forever and not care about mileage and do whatever the heck I want to the car.
I've never understood why anyone would "Rent" any car the math just doesn't make sense to me. The only guess I can come up with is people want more then they can afford, and are willing to get ripped off just to get it?
Don't get me started on those Rent to Own places, they just make their money off stupid people.

They are not stupid; that's how they were brought up. Buy everything on time. Don't save till you have a decent down payment or look for the best loan rate. Just go into the dealer and when they ask, "how much can you afford per month?" And you say 450, guess what the loan monthly payment is...450 (for umteen years). The uneducated even pays sticker price. I know too many "very smart" people who, when it comes to cars, are just very dumb (oops ). You know what I mean.

You REALLY have to know the figures to lease. For business purposes - maybe. You get tax benefits but you still have to pay something!! For the majority of people it just doesn't make sense to lease. Dealers make money from leasing.... guess who pays it???
I wonder if a lease company will consider typical Corvette seat bolster wear as excessive, and charge for seat reskinning? I have heard some horror stories about the inspection process when a lease is turned in.
