I am planning to restore the leather seats on the 99 c5 I recently purchased. The interior code on the car is 92I and the seat leather code appears to be 293 light gray/pewter. The problem I'm having it is trying to match that up with the products offered by the leather restoration companies like leatherique. It looks like the closest match is a light gray, but the code they use is 6758.
Anyone know if these are the same, or maybe I just have the wrong code for my car. Thanks.

Don't waste your time with color codes they won't match anyway. Go to automotive paint store an have them match the color. I just got through with painting my seats. The most thing that you must do is use a promoter for vinyl and leather. They will be able to supply you with a spray can. It is a Dupont product for the paint good luck
I personally don't think the stock leather is worth the time to 'restore' on a C5.
Thanks. I appreciate your input, but will probably attempt to improve the look of the existing seats. The "restoration" kits are $60-100, from companies like leatherique, which seem to produce pretty good results. In any event, if I do it I am only out time (and $100) if it doesn't really improve them.
Sem makes the gm vinyl and leather paint you are looking for. You can find it on ebay. Google "sem classic coat paint ebay" and you are probably looking for shale or a closely matched shade of parchment. There is a color palette on each of the classic coat pages. You might be able to match it there. Good luck.
This may be a stupid question so basically I can buy this SEM or other type of interior paint spray it on and turn my all black interior into mod red or something else and have it look just as or almost as good?
FBODYOWNER You will probably want to also get the sem leather/vinyl primer to make a drastic change. Ebay has the primer as well as summit racing i believe. For leather make sure you get the sem classic coat. It is specially formulated for leather surfaces. I also saw a sem paint colors light gray and dark pewter if that is what you were originally looking for RCWILBUR.

Thanks. I'll be buying some reproduction mod red seat covers I found some Ultra Vinyl ones that seem to have pretty good feedback, to replace my all black ones and use SEM to coat the bottom of my door panels and bolsters.
The all black interior is so boring, bland and cheap looking to me.
