Default Front Wheel Offset Question?

I need to know what the proper offset is for an 18 x 9.5 on the front of a C5. I want to keep the wheel flush or inside the body. Thanks in advance for your help.

Offset should be 59mm. I have 265/35/18s on this size wheel. The lip is 1.5"

Beautiful C5! I have never met a Torch Red C5 I haven't liked!

I think Prince wrote a song about cars like these...

I think size and offset are different. I think offset is determined by the make of the wheel you are considering so a CCW wheel has a different offset than an Ace Slick wheel or a stock Z06 wheel.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.

The Z06 front wheel is 9.5" wide and has an offset of +54mm. More offset than that will push the edge of the wheel out, less will pull it in.

I have 18x9.5 59mm offset front wheels with 265/35/18 tires. Rear wheels are 19x11 65mm offset with 305/30/19 tires.

You got it backwards, more +offset brings the wheel in, not out.

Did you read this thread? http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...el-owners.html

Seems no one knows the offsets of a CCW wheel, regardless they do stick out due to being too wide & wrong offsets.

Go to Tire Rack, put in your vehicle & shop for wheels. They will list the offset for the verious width wheels you choose.

By the way, I'm apparently Dyslexic... I have 265/35/18 tires on my 18X9.5 (59mm) front wheels, not 235/65/18s!

I have the 18x9.5" magnesiums in front (and rear). Their offset is 65mm. Tires are 275/35-18 in front, with no issues.

Be carefull, as the Tire Rack has a lot of wrong wheel info! My rear wheels are 65mm offset, but a C5 ZO6 calls for a 53mm offset. Had to look up a C5 coupe/vert rear wheel. Yet they insisted that a 53mm offset rear wheel was right for my car. That would of stuck out 1/2"
