Need some help identifying an issue
Howdy Gang,
First off, this concerns a 1999 A4 w/95k miles. Car idles great with no vaccum issues or cel codes.
I noticed a few months ago some odd rumbling in reverse and drive with the brake depressed and the car at a stop idling. Yesterday while waiting for traffic to clear on an uphill incline driveway I heard the strange rumble so I lightly tapped the accelerator with the brake depressed and the car at a stop and heard a distinct grinding sound amidst the rattle. This rattle is intermitent and not always occuring. Any ideas on what I need to replace or repair? Torque Converter problem? I'm assuming this is something others have dealt with.
