Definitely a good start. I have a 2004 which already had the intake. I added a Callaway Honker CAI, Corsa X-pipe, Corsa Indy Exhuast and a Chuck C.O.W. tune and really woke up the car without any major engine modifications.
With interior/exterior mods i am already 6k into that vortex. Another 3k should do it (heads, cam, etc.). Pewter 2000 vert w/72k bought 6/14 for 17k. Thanx matt for the link to ls1howto, and to everyone else for their welcome comments and suggestions. Btw, fixed a/c - replaced passenger "akchater" 'cause it weren't "akchatin" and thanx to forum members i found 2 working 2000 fobs. Luv dis joint!

What year is your Vette?
If you have the LS1 intake I believe you will need a cross over water lines kit for the LS6 intake, Some have just ground down the bottom of the intake so it fits, But I believe in doing it right.

I ground the bottom flat and the job is done very right. Why spend money needlessly? Besides, I read that the coolant line helps keep cylinder #7 cool which gets inherently hotter due to the design and firing order. Then there is the benefit of a easier to bleed system too.
Not to be augmentative, But I'm pretty satisfied with keeping the line there, and I believe it has several good purposes over the LS6 design. Grinding the bottom flat was quick and easy and does not cause any negative effects or weakness to the manifold. I think I would personally put the earlier design coolant pipe on an engine if I was building one.
Just my .02 on the LS6 thing. LS1tech has allot of info on the topic.
