Default First time clutch help

Only bought my first C5 like 1K miles ago, and the clutch is already going out! Oh well. It's at 70K miles and doesn't seem to really have anything done to it yet. But I have a few questions...

1.) I'm not keeping it forever.. What's a cheap clutch for the LS1? I do a lot of spirited driving, need something that'll hold up, but money does matter in this situation. Need some advice.

2.) Is it normal for the clutch to go out at 70K, or did the previous owner put too much wear on it?

3.) Does the flywheel usually need replacing too? I haven't looked at it yet, but I'm just wondering if there's a general rule of thumb.

Thanks a lot!!

It's not the price of the parts but the price of labor that will make the total cost of replacement, expensive.

Stick with GM parts.
GM clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, slave cylinder with throw out bearing & a pilot bearing.

Should be able to pick all the parts up for around $450./$600

Use a repair shop that has done c5 clutches, many times in the past, to insure the job will be done properly.
When having the drive line out of the car, have the shop inspect the torque tube/drive shaft & couplings for wear & condition.
