I'm in the market for another C5 and considering putting the Z06 wheels on the next car with 18s at both ends since they are supposed to clear the C6 Z06 brake kit which I'd like to run.
But even if I don't go with the C6Z kit, it might be beneficial to go 18" since not all brands of tires make good combinations for the Z06 size rims in the staggered 17/18 type.
So I'm curious what size fronts people have gone with in similar cases and how they look.
Only the tires have to be of different sizes, the wheels don't matter.
This is correct. I'm running 18x11.5 in the rear and 18x10 in the front CCW Classics with 295/35/18 and 265/35/18 tires rear and front respectively. As long are your rears are about 1/2" taller than the fronts you SHOULD NOT have any AH/TC issues. While tire selection is limites for an 18 18 set up it's not too terrible. Good luck.
I'm running BFG KDW II, front = 275/35-18, rear = 285/40-18
Wheels are N73 magnesiums, 18x9.5" front & rear, offset = 65mm.
