Cost?? : A/C Repair
One of the cars I'm looking at is in generally good shape, save for 13yo tires and a windshield with weird warping to it.
The only technical issue to present itself is that the Dual Zone A/C is funky. Driver side works fine. Cold air blows strong. But running heat on the passenger side just shunts air in from outside. I'm still going to be driving in the Fall or early Spring so this is an issue .... ESPECIALLY FOR MY WIFE. From various injuries over the years, one of which where she had facial skin ripped away when she was dragged by a horse, this leaves her very temperature sensitive... and an otherwise nearly spotless car is now a big question mark for us.
I have done everything but rebuild a transmission, so I am technically capable imo.
For those who can offer info, what would it take to fix the A/C unit? This is a part of the car I know nothing about since I usually just remove the units from my weekend cars.
Or if I sucked it up and sent it to a dealer since I have no time, what would that rapage cost me?

There have been a couple of threads on here recently about this exact problem and the fix was really easy and inexpensive though I can't recall just what it was.
You might be able to find something with the search function, however, I am sure someone who knows will post here shortly.
It shouldn't make you rule out this car as a possibility though because, as I said, it is usually a very simple fix.

Have you checked the codes for the HVAC system? My first guess would be your PS blend door actuator is bad. Might as well replace both while you are in there. Not a terribly complicated fix, but you will have to pull the dashboard. I did both of mine in a few hours.
