I need to also know what a fair price is on a car like this. It is the eletron blue. (i think is the name) Also what to watch for.
Great dececision to buy a vette....now....1st all...take your time...spend hours on this site and learn all you can about this iconic car....educate your self...then off you go to find your vette knowing everything a smart buyer should know before putting down hard earned $$$$....don't buy without the help you can find here...good luck...!!!!!
If you are a car guy, it will be the most exciting purchase you ever make!!!! And....it will only get better as driving time accumulates!!!!!
As to your questions, just read a lot of the posts here and use the search function for specific questions (it helps results to put your question in quotation marks so that it doesn't search each individual word).
There is an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience here to draw from!!!!! Enjoy!!

Good advice above! Wear out this site with "stupid" questions about any car you are looking at. Most of us will help anyway we can! Don't forget to use the pm function for private conversations.
For example, pm me and I will pm you my cell number in return. I have had my C5 for many years now. Glad to help in your search!

Good luck with your search. I've got a number of Word files, including the attached Corvette Buyers Checklist, that might help you out. If you'd like a copy of the files, just PM me your e-mail address.
I too have an Electron Blue 02 coupe 6 speed. It is an awsome car! I bought mine a little over a year ago with 44k miles on it. It now has 54k miles. One of the biggest issues is the steering column lock. I would look at around 19k for the one you are looking at depending on condition. That is what i paid for mine and it was flawless with no issues or blemishes. Try to stay with 01 or newer for the coupe and 02 or newer with the Z06. Coupes had 5hp more in 01 and on, and Z06 went to 405hp in the 02 and newer models. Here are a few threads to read:
I dont know if this will help you in any way but my 2000 coupe had 19k miles and was 21k. I bought it from Criswell in Gaithersburg MD (I was in Columbia MD at the time). It was all stock and I have since then lightly modded it. I had a problem with the column lock and I fixed that with the column lock bypass kit you can find online. My one headlight motor was making a grinding noise and I just went ahead with fixed headlights. Get the carfax on the car no matter what so you can see how many owners and maintenance schedule... Good luck to you.
