My 2000 C5 with 26,000 miles would not take a CD today. It would just display ERR and eject. All the CDs were fine. Any quick fixes for this? If not a quick fix any ideas what the problem would be. Radio, trunk changer etc. work fine. I disconnected the battery and it didn't help. Thanks, Mike
Sorry to hear you have the same problem as me. I tried the disk cleaner and I just read ERR and ejected. Is yours doing the same thing as mine? Insert disk, get err message and the disk ejects.
My changer works but not with computer burnt CDs, bummer. My son offered to take the unit apart and do the manual cleaning of the lazer but I somehow don't think it's the lazer. I have been thinking of just replacing the head unit or hooking something up to play i tunes etc. I understand with the changer there is a plug and play harness for I pod. I think you have to use the change plug but yours doesn't work anyway. I hope someone chimes in here to let us know if we can use any GM head unit identical to ours. I think they are the same HUs but the Vette is bosted by the Bose system. I changed the HU once and don't know where the instructions went. It was easier than the instructions posted in other threads. It was a real easy one man job (My wife held the radio as I pulled it out) I did not have to remove the HVAC contorols or any part of the dash other that the counsole area. If I find the old instructions I will post them. Good luck.
I tried pressing the reset button, then tried pulling the fuse, waiting 5 minutes then putting it back. I can hear the CDs loading, but then ERR message and then nothing. But the radio works fine. I think I have a CD stuck in the player, but I can't the 12 disc cassette out. If anyone has a way to release the cassette from the player, please let me know!
