Default Need Help! Possible Pulley Problem

Was looking (drooling) over the engine this morning and noticed that there is a good sized black pulley just under the alternator. There was what appeared to be the bolt holding the pulley on backed out of the pulley. I reached in to screw it back in and it basically pushed in instead of screwing in. It also felt plastic.

It had threads, but didn't screw in. It also didn't have a torx end, or screw end or bolt end, just flat.

Should I be concerned about this or is it just a plug for a hole in the center of the pulley? What holds this pulley in place if this comes out? Is it really plastic, or did I smell to many fumes?

Rick

It's nothing more than a plastic insert to make things look smooth, the alt has one too.
The pully under the alt is the power steering and it's pressed on. :)

My 99 had that, it kept pushing its way out and riding on the ABS unit. I finally broke it taking it out.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the info. I'll just find some non-permanent adhesive I can use to keep it in there.
