Default zo6 cats

since the cats flow a lot better on the Z does anyone know if they can be installed onto a 02 coupe without problems?

yeah they can be, but why would u wanna go thru all that welding trouble? .... and #2 - The 01 Z has precats ... all cats on all vettes are the same,each year - as far as I understood it, when I was at the factory tour checking them out

Wrong.

'02 Z06s have new cats... without the precats.

Publications have quoted GM engineers saying that removing the cats are good for about 5hp.

That also accounts for the slightly deeper sound in the '02 Zs over the '01s.

They are a bolt-on affair... no welding. If you found one from an '02Z, it should bolt to a coupe or vert no problem. Les on the 'other' forum took the cats off his EB '02 Z and bolted them on his wifes vert.

Not cheap if you buy them new... approx $1300 I believe.
