ok guys, ive broke to rears so far and lets face it im getting tried of it. i want to stick with a c5 diff! i already have 300m OP shafts, carbon clutchs, c6 side gears, i have DTE's diff/trans brace aswell. Tonight i split the case. My question is what are my options? Also does some one make a diff cooler kit or have a write up on it? and is there a stronger case then 3 rib? remember im NOT going to a c6 diff

Questions for you so I or anyone can help
1) how much RWHP / RWTQ
2) What does your Torque Tube look like
3) where are you breaking case at
4) how are your mounts
5) DTC diff brace is it over torqued
6) what gear ratio do you have
7) have you talked to Rick @ RKT (forum vendor)
7.5) have you talked to Jeremy @ RPM (forum vendor)
8) What are you doing when breaking diff. i.e. drag racing street driving
I am asking these questions to you as I dont have enough info to help you out. I have a friend putting over 700 RWHP to a RKT slightly modded C5 Diff. He has not had any issues yet 10k miles so far.

keep the info coming guys, and thanks again so far
What kind of tire are you on? A soft sidewall can make a huge difference. Wheel hop is deadly. Something like a CCW drag pack setup may do more for reliability than a bunch of hard parts.
Is the car wheel hopping? Did the shop you mention do both diff setups for you (that broke?)
It doesnt sound to me (and I may be wrong) like you're making enough power to grenade 2 well put together setups, without either wheel hopping the **** out of the car or dead hooking at high rpm's

i have a ccw drag pack with mt streets radials, the car really dont wheel hop at all. i broke the first one(stock) a week after i had the car, and we did all the upgrades i could. and now i blew the case apart. i was under the car today and took a few pics. ill post in a min
One more how many miles on the stock diff when you lost it and did they use the same diff case. If they did ouch what may have happened is you blew up the gears in the stock diff. rebuilt it with stronger stuff and your org. case was cracked and it blew out.
As for my car I have 465RWHP 450RWTQ With a upgraded by RPM diff with 3.42 gears and run in the mid 11's 125mph on street tires should do better with DR will see here in a few weeks I have the DTE Style brace and was told to just snug it not tighten it to the hilt as it will but un-due stress on it. I will go look at your pictures and get back to you tomorrow

i had the same thought, i figured once it blew the first time i put a hair line crack some where in the case. the case had 48xxx miles on it. im going to try and call dte, rpm, and some other places just to see it they have a good case.
