Default C5 convertible top replacement
Hi fellow Vette enthusiasts,

My C5 needs a new convertible top. I was wondering if anyone knows a good place with the best price to get it done. I live in Huntington Beach, California.

I used a Robbins twillfast top for replacement. Had it installed in NORCAL.
robbins is pretty much the go-to top. Figure $1000-$1300 total price installed.

Top is black with DBGM vette. Original was tan. No comparison IMO. Do a search in C5 general for "megawatt1203". Posted pics and three pages of comments.

Does the Robbins top wear better at the folding pressure points? My OEM black top is still in great shape except for those areas.

To early to tell yet. My vert is a 2000. From what I have read the material was upgraded in 2001.

Personally I wouldn't go there.You need to know what you are doing.Just my 2Cents.I had a new Robbins twilfast black top installed two years ago for $900.00. I bought the top and found a auto custom shop to install it.I think that Robbins will give you a list of installers in your area if you ask.BTW I love the twilfast top.I had one on my mustang vert also.Good luck

What's the most noticible difference between the OEM black fabric top and the Robbins twilfast black fabric top?

Had a good reminder to go peek at the service manual to see if DIY sounded doable. Not many seem to DIY and I hadn't been planning too. May rethink that.

That"s mine. I love DIY projects. After watching the upholstery shop for a couple of hours installing my top, very glad I had it done!!
