Just got back from a trip from Ft Worth to Denver and back. The Vette was awesome. A solid 25/27 MPG and thats running 80 and sometimes faster out in the Texas panhandle.
I did have the fuel guage issue out in Clayton NM but there was a parts store that had Techron so that seemed to maybe cure that.
The Vette in the Colorado twisties was amazing. What a car. It was very comfy. No complaints from the missus.
And I had to carry 50lbs of river rocks in thetrunk on the way home.
Passed a older dude in a 61 roadster twice in New Mexico. And saw some dudes with a possibe drag car C5 out there as well. They shoulda been towing that thing in the rt lane though.
Good for you! Yes, these C-5 are something else. I try to put Techron in the tank when I am going on a road trip. My '99 has been fed Shell & Techron & never had fuel gauge issues. Enjoy your C-5!
We too just got home from Colorado. We went to Winter Park to Vettes On The Rockies put on by the Looking Glass Corvette Club. We too had a wonderful time We went the long way up through Durango Silverton Gateway Glenwood Springs over Loveland pass and then to Winter Park. Like you said what a amazing car to drive in the mountians!
My wife and I started taking road trips as newlyweds in our '75 coupe and we haven't got over the thrill. We spent a little over two weeks this June on a 4,300 mile trip up California 1 & A1A from San Diego to Monterrey. The '02 beats traveling in the '75 by only about 84.3 %, but either way Corvette road trips are one of the finer things in life. Trust me, I'm old and I know stuff.
