Leather repair kit
Anybody ever used the repair kit. My driver seat has a small worn spot and was wondering if it worked with good results? My vert is magnetic red with burgundy seats and the dark color really shows the white where the spot has been rubbed off. Is it worth the 60 bucks or should I just save and get the new cover or will the band aid buy some time?
Just a FYI. If it's the typical side bolster panel, that isn't real leather, it is vinyl. Upholstery shops can usually replace the section. Being a color other than black may be a problem though.
Thanks guys. I saw the kit while browsing through Ecklers. It claimed it would repair small imperfections. However I did not realize the booster were vinyl. Being a color might be somewhat of a problem. To bad, both seats are in great shape for a 98 except for a small rub spot on the driver booster part and some wrinkling.
I have done some work on the interior of my 2000 vert, changing it from black to black/light oak. Sem makes vinyl and leather paint for gm matching the color of gm interiors. If you are interested in trying this the paint usually costs $15-20 for a 12oz can. I have offered this advice to others but got no feedback yet. I am not affiliated with sem but just offering a possible solution for you. Both summit racing and ebay vendor offers this paint. Look up your interior color rpo code in your glove box and just match it with sem's code.
I use this one....works well! The color will match well. Esp black.

Good information. Maybe this will help some others like me that the seats are in to good of condition to replace the covers for just a small spot. This would probably work well on cig. burns also.
