Default I've noticed my key ignition........

assembly has some play in it. Is that normal? I can put my hand on the front part where the key goes in and it moves around some. I'm talking black ring and the key hole. I'm wondering if that's a problem since I'm getting the "pull key, wait 10 sec" message.

Thanks,

Rock

The black ring looks like its just a trim piece. Mine is pretty loose, too. I don't have any ignition issues.

you need to install a clb column lock bypass

buy from a forum vendor

use the forum search function for extensive info on this

i doubt the loose key is a problem

try fast idle charging you battery...Start the car, bring the revs up some for a minute or two. Then shutoff/restart the car and see if the message is gone from the DIC..This is just a temporary fix for column messages, you will need to fix the issue. Several supporting vendors have fixes for this, I used the LMC5.

The black ring is a trim piece and can be replaced. There was a thread on here within the past couple of days about it. As far as the ignition cylinder moving around - perhaps it has worn to the point of needing replacement. The lock cylinder on mine does not move around if I am understanding you correctly.
