Some aspects are an upgrade....some aspects are not.

Drive the 6 and see what you think.

Learn to supress the urge to wave. C6 dudes do not wave in my experience, but they do have the haughty stare down cold.

I to was tempted to make the move. Went to Vegas for an 8 day trip and rented an 09 vert for the stay out there. Put about 900 miles on her and could not justify the price difference to trade in my 04. Just something about the C5 that seems more timeless to me.

If you feel it is an upgrade then do it...why would you listen to use...

Personally I would not even think about it...I'd at least wait for the C7 to hit the streets or sell the C5 and buy a nice C2...now then buy a C7 after selling the C2 if you want a new car..

The C6 has grown on me since it first came out. I used to hate the redesign but now I'm kind of liking it. I hope to get one in the next year or two. The prices have come down enough that the line is blurred between a low mile C5 and an early C6.

I only would upgrade to the Grand Sport or Z06..The base C6 is too bland to justify the price diff..but if you like the base C6 go for it..

Tons of posts on this topic. Just my opinion but for me there is nothing about the C6 that has my mouth watering to make a move. The C5 is a much more stylish design and although you can pick up more power with a
C6, being realistic, where will you use it? Also, if you want more power there are options to upgrading the C5. All Corvettes are great....but IMHO the C5 stands way tall as compared to the C6. Good luck with your decision.

Default different car

i think although the c6 shares many aspects of the c5, they are different. the c6 is an upgrade in the power dept. but you can get that by modifying your c5. most of the differences between them can be addressed by mods. probably the main reason to switch would be that c6s are newer, with less issues down the road (hopefully).

The only reason I would upgrade is just to maintain support by GM. Since I have an 00 as soon as something that cant be replaced goes, Im done. Since I have done enough engine mods to push to 440rwhp and have a completely upgraded suspension it would have to be a z06 just to feel like Im not getting something slower.

I agree with you. But after all the upgrades to my C5 with power, suspension, electronics, seats....I still want a Z06 BUT it would be a step backwards. So I'm staying with my C5 until the next C8 or C9 comes out with anti-gravity drive!

Nothing wrong with making the move. The C6 is a fine car and some day wouldn't mind having one myself.

As for the C6? I would give it some serious thought if I had the chance to do it.

I'm waiting for the c7 to get here, then hopefully get a great deal on a c6 zo6, But no way will I ever part with my FRC it's going to the grave with me.
I bet if you can wait till the c7 gets here the prices will be less expensive on the c6.

Yup, the C6 interior is one my biggest turn-offs of the car. Good move!
