Default DTE Trans brace

I see DTE has them on sale. Is that the cheapest place to buy them?

Will this stop wheel hop?

http://www.performancebydte.com/component-parts.asp

This is a DTE Differential/Trans brace.
It will not & is not designed to eliminate wheel hop.

This is a Pfadt Trans brace.
It is indeed designed to eliminate wheel hop.

It doesnt change ride at all---and doesnt help or prevent wheel hop---it strengthens trans/diff as an assembly. Install to support and strengthen. Good product--ECS sells them.. Wheel hop = wrong tires and driving "skill"

I installed also-- doesnt stop wheel hop.

If you think of complete drivetrain assembly-- from engine to rear-- if you lock the rear down with a brace without locking front engine mounts down ( with solid mounts) you are twisting and flexing torque tube / trans / rear etc----the front solid mounts are too stiff for street use---When I installed the rear brace follow instructions---leave some play by shimming snubbers--give it some play. does help some--- but its tires and driving.... JMO

Think about old school cars--- put a solid trans mount and leave stock engine mounts -- engine twists under load and breaks aluminum trans housing--

I was unaware of the Pfadt unit and was considering the DTE one too. I opted not to get if for my setup. If any, I would go with the Ppadt just for the sake of knowing that it will be a practical piece.
I am confused how a strip below the diff can do more for wheel hop than a complete cage around the trans and diff. But Pfadt knows what they are doing.

The Pfadt trans/diff "mount" is what I installed. Yes.. It helped with wheel hop. Eliminate it .. No.
All aside it was a no brainer. If it helps in any way , that's a great thing.
Buy one and it will help for sure

Indeed. I put on a DTE brace on and haven't felt the slightest difference. I just had it put on for the added support and hopefully improved driveline longevity.

It looks like both could be done from the designs. Anyone know if they would work together? DTE or ECS all around and Pfadt underneath?

I run both. The Pfadt brace to reduce the wheel hop. The DTE brace to keep things from breaking if it does.
