I'm interested too. I'm looking at the 555s too and trying to decide if either the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport or the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 are worth the couple of $100 more...
I ran a set of NT555s for 58k miles and 6 yrs when the car was near stock. Great for 1st two years, then very mediocre and last two nearly dangerous. But the tread life was excellent. Depends on how hard you push the car. If you do, step up.
I run the NT05s now. Very sticky, a little dicey in the wet.
I have the Nitto 555 extremes front and rear... they were on the car when I got it 2 years ago,, the date code say 2002.. I put 4000 on them so far and still doing great,,, in the summer sticks good,,, very fun in the winter (slippery) on hard take off's,, I think for the price I'll go with these again..

I put a new set on my Ford Lighting and after 14k I can't stand them as they make a heck of a lot of noise and they don't wear that well imho. Back to something else next time.
If you are looking for the Nitto 555 Extreme, I just saw an ad on the bottom of one of the forum pages that Discount Tire Direct is offering a $100 Visa card (when you buy 4 tires) this Friday and Saturday.
I tried to get a set of 555's all the way around but Discount Tire was out of them. Instead I got the Hankook tires. I love, love, love these tires. Did I say I love these tires? I can actually hear the motor now. No more road noise.
I know, all the runflat guys will chime in, but here's the way I figured it. I've driven for 39 years and have never had a blow out. I'll take the gamble not to have to drive a jack hammer any longer.

When it was time to replace my tires, my mechanic recommended Nitto NT555. I'd never heard of Nitto before. Wasn't even sure how to pronounce it.
Anyway, there is a specific turn pulling into work that I take rather spiritedly on occasion.
When I had Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP All Season tires, the car would screech and lose traction, even when they were new. The Nitto NT555s? Not a peep.
Draw your own conclusions.
