Default trouble with door seal replacement

2004 c5 convertible - 17000 miles - in the process of replacing the right door wiper seal (front crack) noticed the factory seal was too short (area in question is the front 3-4 ins) compared to the drivers side fit. Ordered a OEM seal from GMpartshouse.com and found the same issue.. plus the plastic mounting studs on seals do not allow the seal to be positioned properly in the front and length appears to be about 1/2 inch too short.
Anyone have a similar issue...(just view the front section seal position on the right side compared to the drivers side)

Any pics to help visualize this? I have a 2004 vert and noticed that my passenger door seal is wrinkled and doesn't lay flat like the driver's side. I was considering swapping it out as well or at least removing it to see if I can fix it. Wondering if I have the same issue?
