I think its an "on to the next project" thing. Im not sure why so many go for sale either. If I spent the money to supercharge my vette, Id be holding onto it for awhile.
Why are there so many procharged c5's up for sale? To much maintance? Lost interest or what?
Well, I'm sure there are many factors. The worst being over extending yourself financially then having to sell the car. If you are trying to determine the reliability of supercharged Vette's, there are many Vette's that are SC and still have great reliability. I have a 98 SC Vette That I plan on Keeping indefinetly. I will never get my money out of it and I have modified conservitavely. The owner's that purchased every little shabangus for hundred's or thousands of dollars are in even deeper. The positive side is it creates a great opportunity for the buyer.

Could be they are wanting another project to do, maybe they are looking to step up to a C6, or even anticipating a C7. Hard to say the real reason, but it does make for some good buying opportunities for someone looking for a C5 that's been modded.

What else is there that will give you serious HP gains and will do it all day long? Nitrous will do that too but no one is going to use it every time you stomp on the throttle a bit. I think most of us consider our cars as 'work-in-progress'. There's always another mod to do and then plan for the next one. If you supercharge it then you've probably already done everything else to the car - now what?? Start over with another car of course!
I agree with NukeC5 as well though - if I've gone through all that work then it's time to enjoy it for a long while!

I'm on my 4th & 5th Procharged C5z's along with an 03 Z all stock, debating what too do with this one! It never gets old working on them to get more power or updating the appearance! Then a certain color pops up for sale w/ decent mile's, certain mods, etc, etc, and you think to yourslef "I have too have it" next thing you know, I'm buying it and tinkering with that one. Lol,,, Its addicting thats for sure!!

I Procharged mine 6 yrs ago & over time have upgraded the clutch, the torque tube, the fuel system & am just now getting around to the rearend. I'll have put $15,000 into getting it like I want it. No way shape or form could I get that money back out of it. It sure is the most fun car I have ever owned & don't see parting with it. Oh & I have put 25,000 miles on since the install was done & they have been trouble free.
