Heading out Saturday for a two week road trip in my 2000 verte.
Taking the ferry from Vancouver Island to Port Angeles and then down to Salem, OR. From there it is off to Reno via Klamath Falls, OR. Across northern Nevada to southern Utah and a quick trip down to the Grand Canyon. Back up through Salt Lake City to Boise, ID and then follow the Columbia River west to Hwy 97 and into Yakima, WA. Back on the I5at Everett and north across the border.
Not sure which part of the grand canyon you'll be checking out, but you may be a couple hours from meteor crater Arizona which is quite an impressive sight. I found it more interesting than the Grand Canyon. Sounds like there will be plenty to see no matter where you go! Have fun!
A very scenic ride is Utah-12 from Bryce Canyon to Torrey, UT, then east thru Capital Reef NP and on to Moab, UT and Arches NP. Try UT-128 east out of Moab along the Colorado River up to I-70 then maybe US-6 over to I-15. If you plan to overnight in Torrey, make reservations in advance; it's a small town.
