Never got remote CD manual when I bought mine, trial & error -- learned cd's must be face up in magazine and it runs off interior fuse #5 and that's about it.
A lot of the gm players did this. It's a issue with the actual motor that allows the cd to move. Most fixes range in the $150 to $300 area. Mine did the same thing in my truck and camaro. I just bought a new aftermarket one. Gm wants a arm and leg for them.

There was no cd manual. It's in the owner's manual. Starting on page 3-70 for the 2003, should be close for other years.
Make sure the cd's are facing the right direction and that one hasn't stuck in the mechanism. Take out the cartridge and make sure they're all there and label down. When you put the cartridge back in, it should cycle through all the disks before you play them. Takes about 5 seconds if full.
On the trunk mounted changer there is also a very small reset button that you need something small like a paper clip to push. It is on top somewhere. That may help.
I had the same problem about three months ago. There was a CD stuck inside the player. I removed it and it still didn't work. I had it rebuilt for around $400 and it works fine. Chevrolet wants quite a bit for a new one and you don't know how long it has been on the shelf. Also got a one year warranty.
Mine works in my 04, but can't figure out how to remotely change from one CD to another without playing through the previous one. The owner's manual describes every operation except that.

I believe it is the button (key) with nothing describing operation on radio face...in any case it is one of the large buttons that goes to next CD. Took me awhile to figure this one out too.

Thanks! I think I pressed every button except that one. It's the "5" channel selector button, btw, on the 04. And like you said, it doesn't have any function listed on it.
