Headlight Guru's
Today I had my first headlight issue and I'm hoping the light guru's on the site can help. I went to turn on the marker/parking lights to drive home when all of a sudden the headlights came up. I turn them off and back on thinking that it might have been a glitch, it wasn't. I get home turn them on and it happens again but this time I hear a grinding type noise when I turn them off. I open the hood and try again same issue. I did the easy stuff like pull the fuse, disconnect battery, check the wiring harness, etc. No luck. The only mod that's been done is a wiring harness to the lights so they can flip up when you pull the headlight lever to high beams; flash to pass deal. This was done by the previous owner. Is there a micro switch that might be bad or is the motor starting to go. It does stop, eventually, but my concern is other damage that might be happening. You can see the manual **** spinning when this happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its a 2003 coupe.

Just replace the gears. Very easy to do and way cheaper. You can do a search on this forum for instructions but the new gear kits, available from supporting vendors, come with printed instructions.
