Default Export 2003 Z06

Hello,

How can I tell if my car was originally slated for export? I live in Canada but have a car with export tail lights and a Z06 badges that do not mention the 405 HP (like 2001)
I'm not the original owner and perhaps the previous owner added these custom touches from the aftermarket?????

Thanks!

Ken

Quickest way to tell is by looking at the speedometer. Canada cars go up to 300 (instead of 200) since you guys use kilometers instead of miles.

Hi Skya,
Canadian cars look the same as U.S. cars from the outside........that's why I'm puzzled.
Thanks,
Ken

If the car was intended for export, there should be an RPO code indicating such. The list of RPO codes for your car are listed on the glove box door. I don't know which code(s) is for export though.

I'm sure you can find a list on the web or in this site.

2 Things come to mind right away:

1.) Canadian Vette's have a 300 KPH speedo.

2.) Look in your glove box. If you see GM RPO code "Z49" then it was a Canadian Export car.

Z49 : EXPORT CANADIAN MODIFICATION MANDATORY BASE EOUIPMENT

- Only 284 were Z49 Z06's in 2001 (http://corvetteactioncenter.com/spec...01z06prod.html)
- Only 293 were Z49 Z06's in 2002 (http://corvetteactioncenter.com/spec...02z06prod.html)

I can't find the production numbers of the 2003-2004 Z06's with the Z49 option.

Only the 2001 Z06 has no HP designation on the side emblem.

2002-2004 had "405HP" on the emblem.

I added the Euro Tail lights (export) because I liked them.

Does this mean, since my car has taillights just like Toque's, my car's Canadian? First, my beer, then my HHR SS, and now, this?

Your LS6 engine is Canadian...
All LS6's were assembled in Canada.

My Z06 gets a little more Canadian in it when ever I get in ...

And about the Beer.... well you seem to already know Canadian Beer is better (except Labatt's Blue... )

I think my wife's new Ford speaks Spanish. I know I don't "Sync" with it at all.
