All of the sudden I see a lot of C5 for sell. What's up with that . Are they getting ready for the C7. Or they just moving up to C6 . Are prices going or down ? Or maybe I need to get a life and stay away from this forum for a while.

According to at least one magazine's buying guide (Corvette Magazine), C5 prices have been rising lately (good news for those of us that have them). I think a lot depends on the condition of the car, mileage, options, location, etc. - so a blanket statement that C5 prices are rising may or may not be true. I think you may be on the right track - more C5s may be for sale simply because C6 prices are coming down and/or the C7 introduction is not far off and the C5 owners may be looking to move up in the Corvette generations.
As to your post title, "Am I crazy?" I know from personal experience, if you have to ask, then the answer is automatic........YES, YOU ARE!!!!! But that is not necessarily a bad thing!! The difference is that those of us who know we are crazy, and accept it, have a LOT more fun than regular people!!!!! Actually, I take it as a point of pride!!
In 2009 I bought a 99 coupe with around 40k miles in south florida for $12,900....now in California I have'nt seen one for that amount of miles for less than 15-16k
location and the economy have a lot to do with it.

Another thing to remember is it's September. People like to buy in the spring but many people sell in the fall so they don't have to store them for the winter and of course other reasons. Like wanting to move to a C6 or newer C5.
A friend of mine told me these are throw away cars because of the electronics. Meaning the support for them over the long haul isn't there.
Long gone are the days when you could buy a simple car and keep it together for decades.
I don't know if I believe it or not, but it does make sense.

i agree with your friend and we don't have to look any farther than the c4 to see it. there are more than a few quirky parts on the c4 that are getting extremely rare. the c5 while a vastly better car seems to be on the same track. it irritates me to no end that gm refuses to support these cars for more than 10 years past the last build date but it is what it is.
once we see the c7 and guys start drooling over it we should see a good supply of c6s come on the market.
as for the c5...well, we have a supply of c6s due to come on after the 7 releases. the 5 is also 2 generations old. we have the pesky 10 year parts problem and we have an aging car.
i think it totally sucks as i really like the 01-04 z06, they are a light, nimble, fun car to rip around in. i just happen to also think that they are overpriced at the moment because of what i just mentioned. {just a couple days ago a 39k mile 2001 z06 closed at 17k, that's still a pretty strong bid when you consider a 2006 base with that mileage would get 23-24k}
if history is any lesson the c5 won't really get in trouble until 2014ish the c4 sold alright up until GM liquidated those parts in 2005-2006 and the c6 was released
i really don't see any reason to believe that history won't repeat
