Washing c5 with missing headlight cover
I recieved delivery on a new to me C5 that was unfortunately damaged during delivery. One of the headlight covers broke off in addition to some pretty bad scratches. I would like to wash the dust of 'er though. I was thinking I could wrap a plastic bag over the headlight, but was wondering if anyone had advice for other stuff in there that I should protect.

You might as well cover that area, you can just painter tape a square plastic sheet over the hole (yes, right onto the hood and surrounding fender, you can detail up close after you're done).
But truth be told, you're not gonna hurt anything with water there, all the connections around the lights on either side are intrinsicaly water safe.
Have at it.

It's not like water doesn't get inside the headlight assembly when you have the lights up and it is raining. Wouldn't worry about that part of it but if you want, do like Jistari says and place some plastic and tape over the opening.
