Default 1998 Convertible Value

I am not new to the forum, having owned a 1988, 1994,1999,2007, and most recently a 1971 Corvette.

I have been out of the newer Corvette Scene for a while (currently have 69 Camaro Weekend/show car) , and I am about to pull the trigger on a 1998 Sebring Silver Corvette Convertible with 13,200 original miles as a daily driver.
It is 6 speed manual with few options ( sport seats ,power passenger seat, and upgraded thin spoke wheels) it also has new non runflat Michelins all of the way around..

The seller is asking $19,000 and I was wondering if this is in line with realistic values...

I know there are tons of C5 and C6 cars on the market right now, but not too many with this mileage in this price range.

The car presents as new inside and out and has a clean Carfax and all factory documentation such as window sticker and build sheet..

Is this a fair price in this market?

Any input would be appreciated

its actually a very good price for that car...I have a torch red vert, same year, same options, with 117,000 miles, and I put it up for sale at $16,900...I decided to hold off on the sale(I just love it too much and had sellers remorse) but had a bit of a bidding war where one guy offered me $18,000 for it after comming to look at it.....if you don't buy that low mileadge vert at that price, send me a pm where you saw it and I will take it.

one thing though, mine has high miles but is in imaculate condition and was fastidiously maintained via oil changes and upkeep etc.....the condition and care that was put into it is important, if it was a well taken care of vette, and that low of mileadge, then its well worth it.

Seems to be a fair price. I had a rotten dealer buy one from under me. I found this car after looking for about a month, talked to the seller , and got my best price. It had 42,000 miles, great condition and he was asking $16,500 for it. He said he had lost his job and would sell it to me for pay off $15,000. Let it slip to a dealer I was negotiating with and he bought it within the hour. He now has it on his lot for $21,900. He won't get that for it unless somebody is desperate but he will still turn at least 4 to 5 thousand on it. Not bad for a two hour trip after I did all the work. He knew he did me dirty and would not return my call. I sent him a e mail asking him if a commission would be out of the question! No answer. Based on this 98 and what he is asking I would say you are getting a fair deal. Maybe put $18,000 in a envelope show him the money and see what happens. Whatever you do, keep the details to yourself until you decide what to do. I learned the hard way.

Thats up to the buyer. If you like it buy it . I have a 98 vert with 18,000 miles in mint condition . I have 19" ccw with other mods and wouldn't sell mine for less than 21,000. Most people would think I am nuts, until you see my car in person. Someone will fall in love with the car and pay his price or he will lower it to sell it. Its all up to you . How many sport vert with low milage can you buy for less than 20,000. Not many. Get some ***** and buy it. LOL Just kiding .

I bought the car today for $18,000 and am totally satisfied with the deal and the car....

It is in new condition inside and out.. I had it checked out at the shop I work at and it appears that the front of the oil pan. or possibly the front crank seal is seaping oil.. other than that .... immaculate condition...

Thanks for all o0f the input.. I am surprised that is was not sold.. It was posted on the local Craigslist.

The owner previous to the owner I bought it from was a Corvette collector/NSRS Judge from the East Coast, and included the orginal Bill Of Sale, and laminated Build Sheet and Window Sticker...

Oh No you bought one of those 97-2000 throw away cars .

I just had to throw this in as we usually get a warning from those who would never buy a C5 older than an 01. We need pics though!
