Default Carbon deposits?

Is there any truth regarding carbon deposits;
If you don’t drive your car hard or frequently enough they will form on the valves? I use 93 octane BP fuel. It never stays in the tank longer than 3 weeks if I don’t feel like driving it much. It's just a toy and I don’t play with my toys unless I feel like it.
I don’t have a lot of opportunities to drive WOT for more than a short distance. I was told by a neighbor with an old GTO that was the case. What do you guys think?

You will get alot of answers to your question.
I have my thoughts garnered from the EPA.
Yes you will have deposits on your valves with the fuel you
are using now.
These are some of the fuel companies that are recommended.
Chevron,Exxon,Mobile,Rebel Oil,Shell, US Oil, and Road Ranger
to name some of the fuel co.
More info---top-tiergas.com
I use Exxon.
Good luck

Even with the better gas, I would think you could still get carbon deposits on the valves. How much - I don't know.

I should have done a search but didn’t because I was in such a hurry.
There seems to be a general consensus that many of the different gas stations all receive the same GENERIC fuel from one brand to the other. I was at a CITGO near my home that was having the underground tanks filled by a tanker that I can’t remember the name that was on it. Was it a CITGO or GENERIC company? I can’t remember.
The tanker guys told me it doesn’t matter if the station was all new and remodeled and looking nice had nothing to do with the quality of the fuel.
It’s the tanks that are the only thing that mean anything.That makes a lot of sense to me. I guess the only way to tell if you are getting new gas from clean tanks is if there is a new station that wasn’t a gas station before it was built……………..

Previously a fast food place or a whatever, that would indicate the tanks are brand new. That idea came to mind after further thought. So, I have never really seen a true real ground up from scratch station.
The true answer to my topic actually may mean nothing regarding the brand of fuel.
CARBON DEPOSITS;
Does it matter if the car is driven hard or the quality of the fuel that matters?

would be interesting to hear from those that have done a cam replacement and looked at their valves.

I've had my engine apart several times.I have used 93 octane in every tank and I like to think I drive my car quite a bit harder than the average guy but don't make it to many track days. EVERYTIME I have pulled apart the engine, there is carbon build up on the valves, not much, but some. From pulling off the heads when the motor was stock, or a year after the cam/head swap to change a sticky lifter, there has been some carbon build up.

I actually have it apart now for a bigger cam. You can see the crusty black on the tops of my pistons before I cleaned them in my avatar. And that's after only 12,000 miles.

Also, I have a very good tune and my AFR almost always runs in stoich.

Obviously that went off topic

The title of this topic is something I seriously would like input from other members here
