Approximately what should I expect to pay Chev Dealer to replace Oil pan gasket and rear main seal gasket on 2002 Corvette?

It's crazy expensive. Why do you think you need all of that replaced?

Default General repair - gaskets!

Oh come on...give me a break! I'm only talking about replacing gaskets that seem to be leaking a little bit!

Doesn't the rear main seal require pulling the engine or driveline? I don't think its about the parts.

You should expect to pay book time for repair muliplied by their door labor rate. Which will be stupid money. Where are you located?? Lots of good Vette shops to be reccomended by area.

Just had mine done...
Oil pan gasket: 4 - 5 hours labor, $600,ouch!

Having rear main seal replaced soon, was quoted 8-9 hours labor about $1200 - $1300

I have a vette shop near the house,he has a Dyno also, has a work shop in conjunction with a shop that is on here too from central Fl. (Jeremy).i was told to do the pan and crank seals......$2000 bucks!!!! its ALL labor......and while i was there he was doing one.........OMG! huge job. the exhaust.....out. the rear end/tranny......out. torque tube......out. the front K member....out. lower control arms bolt to that too. then its time to work on the pan.....bell housing....front cover.....$$$$$$$ and TIME.
my pan is wet and the driveway is a mess. who ever did the pan for $600 above this post........i wish i was closer!!..

Hmmmm...I was thinking both of them, not just one. I got charged $70 in labor to replace an A/C belt...I was with the tech and it took him less than 2 shakes of lamb's tail...what a rip off---but, it was according to "the book".

Are you sure your rear main is leaking? Its common for the oil pressure sending unit to leak down the back of the engine and to be mistaken for a rear main and or oil pan gasket leak.

If you don't believe the numbers being thrown out here, why not just ask your local dealership or if available, a local Corvette shop, what they charge to do the repairs. I think you'll find it is a labor intensive job and as such, the cost is going to be up there.

I'm living proof. It never hurts to get a second opinion.
