C6Z or keep C5Z
So heres the deal.
The C5 has 46k miles on it right now. Big mods are ECS SC600 kit, car tek flipdrive, bilstein sport shocks, mcleod rxt twin clutch, lg pro headers, ecs alky kit, qtp cutouts and ccw classics, c5R hood.
Unfotunately I've deployed a few times and the car sat at out the sun the whole time so paint is faded in some areas, mainly the bumper and headlights, and hood. I also think the torque tube couplers need to be replaced.
So I would either need to get the car repainted or buy oem/aftermarket bumper and headlights (non flip up light cannons maybe). Then I would probably want to get some L5 fender flares and a forged engine.
I currently owe 17k on the car (because I refinanced to pay off motorcycle and truck) if not I'd owe in the neighborhood of 9k.
With all that being said do you think it would be better to do the mods and keep the car or sell it (no idea how much I could get) and buy a c6z (i'd like to spend no more than 35k, year doesn't matter). With a newer Z I'd either try to buy one with mods as long as it was done correctly or I would buy stock and do the common bolt ons. I'll never do FI again with all the money I spent through parts and trail/error. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brett

a standard c6 coupe i could see as it's only a few thousand more than your c5z but that's about it
keep the rule of 72 in mind every time you start racking up interest
I do appreciate any advice though. I have trouble making up my mind sometimes and give into impulse even though its unnecessary at times.
I'd get out of the mod mode and place any future bonuses into a Retirement Action Plan. That's something worth competing for. I'd also reduce my inventory down to 2 if not 1 vehicle. U decide which has to go. Truck, M/C, or Vette.
And I'd do everything needed to get a Officers commission. Do your 20 and see the world. Set goals. Retire well as a LTC. Hopefully no politicians will send you to more sorry azz wars. When U get out maybe join some good LEO Dept and do another 20 or go in business for your self.
Don't worry, more Vettes are in your future no matter what. Just set some priorities. Have something to show for it before it's all over.

I gotta agree, it's not my business, but you sound like your leveraged a little too far. Don't know your FICO score, but I'd get my ducks in order as 6genvettes has given you good advice. I came home from 4 years with the Navy Sea-bees as an E4, but if I had stayed I'd of gotten a extra chevron ASAP and I had enough time with my battalion and my CO gave me extra high praise, I did one tour of Vietnam and one in Guam TAD to the 7th. Air Force bombing the 'Ho Chi Ming trail', got a special letter of commendation for that tour,. They pulled the plug in April 73, so I knew it wasn't long till Nixon called us back.I got out in July 74, and the whole deck of cards fell 9 months later so I'd of never been deployed there every again. Had I stayed, I could of been a Master Chief in say 20 or 24 years at the latest. And I would still only been close to fifty, retired and look for something to kill time at. My Company CO wanted me to get in and do some special projects, furthering my experience and should I say 'Networking'. Even in the military, it's all about who you know and what they thing of when something nice is just over the hill. If I were you I concentrate on knocking down your debt. Sell the bike, and the best day I ever had, is when I paid off my 2003 50th Edition coupe two months early. Nothing like sitting in her and having the title in your hand.
Good luck my friend, I'd stay, The current POA is going to cut off a lot of dangerous situations we're currently in. No more putting Americas finest soldiers in anymore wasted action.

I appreciate all the advice gentlemen. Sometimes I just need to get a smack in the face and told NO

Haha, but seriously I agree it would be a waste of hard earned money.
I'll just fix up the little issues I have now and get a paint job once I can get it out of the sun.

It happens.
