Convertible Top Repair
Just wondering if anyone knew if the gasket around the rear window is needed if I re-glue the window in.
This will be the 3rd repair that is made, so I am not sure if I can get the gasket in clean.
(What possessed Chevorlet to put glass windows in convertibles. This is my 3rd convertible, and never had a problem with the plastic windows.)

Talk to the miata and z3 guys with the plastic windows and ask them if they wish they had a glass window
As for your question about the gasket, sorry I can't help ya on that one but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Karan, see my post on here yesterday, you will find some real good information. Be sure to look at the link one of the members put on it. It is very helpful. Be sure to use the Rhino glue, the other stuff will not work. I have not done mine yet but should be no problem going by the instructions. Good luck. PS, from what I understand you have to google the rhino glue, not sold in stores but is the real deal.

Do you have a pic of this gasket? I've never heard anyone ask that before. I had to go in the garage and take a double look for this gasket.
The glass windows are much better than the plastic they put in other cars. GM just went cheap on the glue to hold it in unfortunately

I had the window fall out of my 98 due to the handywork of a car detailer. Ugh! I read all the posts about glueing them back in, but couldn't findd anyone who said it was a permanent fix. I replaced the top to the tune of $1500 bucks.
