Default Which tire for 18x10?

I bought a set of ccw classics with tires on them already awhile back. I'm pretty sure the front is a 18x10, but the tire is a 275/35/18 and there is about a 1/4 inch lip where the tire doesn't cover the rim (inside and out) because its not wide enough. So I'm just trying to figure out what size tire I should put on the rim, because it looks really goofy as it sits.

Thanks,
Brett

Well, a 305 can fit a 10" rim but you don't want that in the front. A 285 is about as much as you want to go. What size are the rears?

For my setup, 275/35/18 on my front 18x10's, looks fine.

Bah, maybe they were wrong on the front rim size then? Maybe its a 10.5 because the 275s don't cover the rim completely and if I cut the wheel as far left/right as it can go the rims scrape the a arms. (I think thats what they are called)

The rears are 335s (18x12) and they match the rim perfectly

Sounds like you may have a 10.5 inch wheel. Is the car lowered and do you know if the camber has ever been changed. A 10 inch wheel with a 275 is pretty normal.

The car is lowered a little on the stock bolts, but not bottomed and the only changes I've had was an alignment awhile back. I didn't have any aggressive race settings or anything like that though.

Some tires just are not as wide as others even though the tire size appears the same. Take these two wheel and tire setups, both are on 19x11.5 inch CCW wheels of the same make, the one on the left is a 305/30-19 PS2 and on the right is a Pirelli of the same size. There are no standards for how to measure tire width so ya get a range of width.

I run a 275/35-18 on the front, no issues with rubbing and on a 18x10 inch wheel from CCW, fits nicely. I would think the reason most are not going to back up the 285 on the front is cause from one tire manufacturer it may work but from another it might be a bit to wide and rub at full turn.

tires are toyo proxies r1a all around.the 335s fit on the 18x12 nicely, but like i said the 275s show about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch lip on both sides of the rims up front. Are the toyos known to be really small compared to other tires?

I have 18 x 10" Classics on the front of my car. I have 265/35 Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas on my wheels and they look fine to me. I've never had anyone say they look too small either. I'm running 295's on 11" rears. I also like yhe height of the sidewall using the 265, it looks correct in proportion to the rear tire sidewall.

I have 18x10 Classics up front and the 275/35/18 is the recommended tire by CCW themselves. Mine is not stretched, fits perfectly. You sure its 18x10?
