Not sure if you know or not, but when you turn off traction control, you can press the "RESET" button, and it will stay in competitive driving mode but will erase the text from your DIC.
[QUOTE=oh1vette;1581970460]MPH, RPM and oil pressure on HUD (wish I could include coolent temp here too) / / oil temp on DIC...
/QUOTE]
You read my mind! I have MPH, RPM, and oil pressure on my HUD, and I like almost always have the oil temp on my DIC. I like to know when it's really warmed up and ready to romp on! I think it's repetitive to put coolant temperature or oil pressure on the DIC seeing as you still have the analog gauges.
Every once in a while too, I like to dim all of the dashboard lights at night and drive with just the HUD. It really makes you feel like you're in the cockpit of a fighter jet!

I've done that! I thought I was the only one so strange.

At first when I got my car I was not used to the HUD & I would turn it off. Now I can't live without it, awesome feature!! I usually have MPH/RPM & Gas level.
As far as the DIC, I only use it when needed......
My HUD is set for MPH/RPM and fuel. DIC selected to average fuel. Have to try turning down the display lights at night and playing jet fighter with the HUD. Sounds fun
I still cannot believe that HUD never really took off and went mainstream, because I think it is a really convenient feature. My options are limited for my next car if I want HUD again- C6, Camaro, or Cadillac?

Thank you very much for the heads up but I do know that.

puh-leeease tell us that pun was intended. I always have the HUD with speed only. And I check it about four times a minute, or more, unless I have the cruise control active. I usually set the CC, otherwise the lead in my left foot will take over ...

My HUD only has the mph, nothing else, and the DIC is always in the 'blank' state. No need for distractions.
And yes, I've become spoiled by the HUD, every car I get into now that doesn't have one always makes me feel wierd having to look down at the speedo...
