Default Power Seat Plastic Base

I did a bunch of work this weekend on my '97 C5. On Friday, replaced the driver seat foam and leather with new 'used' stuff from another forum member in South Jersey (AFTER driving to Los Angeles in four days - my sore bum!)

On Saturday, replaced the rotors and pads with drilled and slotted stuff I got on this fantastic forum for $179.99 and then after lunch swapped out the plugs and serpentine belt. The plugs were more of a challenge than expected and the serpentine belt much easier than expected so I guess that kind of offsets.

Here's my query. Although the power seats work on both seats, the plastic is broken on the front where the long screw goes into the seat base through the foam. Clearly, plastic fatigue has set in after 16 years. Where can I buy new plastic for the power seats? Can I get just the plastic and swap out the still functioning controls?

Thanks for the input!

Awesome! Thanks Bumble-z. I should have nailed this down before removing the seat but that is the easy part of the job.

If I'm envisioning the part you are talking about correctly, you should be able to get a replacement part at a dealer or even at one of the used parts vendors here on the forum. For new, try Gene at gmpartshouse.com. For used, try Marc@VetteNuts.

I want to go new on this because 16 year old plastic fatigues. Plus, at less than $30 apiece it's not exactly breaking the bank.

Bumble-Z was nice enough to provide a GM parts # via PM so that made it even easier to search on eBay.

Marc, I also need a (left) handle to recline the seat and two reflectors for the doors. Finally, there is a rubber piece about the size of a quarter that fits on the front by the radiator so that when I close the hood it rests at the right height. I have the left one but the right one disappeared. Do you have that? I did not see it on your website.

Thanks.
