MY c5 corvette randomly after thirty minutes of sitting still after its been driven the a/c goes on for 10 secs then shuts off, 20 min later it does it again? should I be worried about this? Also my car has a loud screeching noise when accelerated hard on almost sounds like a whining supercharger. Maroone told me it is what it is they cant fix it, it inst harming the car. I do have month warranty but am worried.

Do you have the automatic climate control on?

It could be a bad pulley, or a number of other things. "it is what it is" is not an acceptable answer IMHO, I would make them figure it out and fix it, period.
I think I may have the same problem with the A/C randomly coming on. It happens with the car completely turned off, keys in pocket. I first had it happen after I got under it to change the oil, and it started blowing, I've never moved so fast in my life!
But like Paul said, it will come on for a few seconds (or 10), then go off, and then do it again several minutes later, several times. Once the engine is cold, I haven't noticed it doing it, but I have heard it happen several times soon after driving.
It happened once while I was sitting in the driver's seat working on removing the center console. It definitely blew air through the A/C vents, that was a surprise, because until then I had assumed it was the cooling fan coming on.

Do you have to take it to that particular dealeship for the warranty work? If not, find another dealer to look at the car. If so, keep bugging them before your warranty runs out.

I am familiar with your dealership. Take it back...it is their responsibility and not yours. A/C compressors with labor are very expensive also harmonic balancers are also expensive.
I helped some friends with a C6 that had a similar issue with random problems. After shutdown (car off) the A/C would acctivate, windows change position, and one other thing I forget. The problems occured randomly and would drain the battery overnight. After a lot of diagonistics I finally recommended putting in a new BCM (Body Control Module). That fixed the issue.
Do yourself a favor and escalate the problem. Make an appointment to visit with the service manager. Make yourself some notes before hand, explaining what you observe and under what circumstances. If there is any discernible pattern, be sure to mention this. You want to ensure that you leave no detail out. Resist the tendency to diagnose the problem, yourself. Avoid speculation. Be matter of fact. Do not get angry, confrontational, or get personal. Ask him to allow you to demonstrate the issue(s) to him and, or his shop foreman. After the demo, he will have to agree that this is not a normal situation. Ask him for his help to get the vehicle dispatched to the right tech, so that the problem will get resolved.
