Just installed my Double Din package I got from Dennis Saturday morning. Got off work early today and was going to take her for a spin and listen to some tunes. As I was opening the gate to the backyard I heard a dog barking. LOL I said to myself I don't own a dog. I stuck my head inside the gate to take a peep and what do you know there is German Shepard Mix dog wrapped around my tree. Seems the owner had him chained up with twisted spike thingy and the end of his wire. Apparently he pulled it out the ground, got in my backyard, went under the carport, pulled the cover off and shreaded it to pieces. Now the bad. The dumb dog scratched everywhere he was tugging to get the cover off. Must of the damage is on the hood. Scratches everywhere. So I did the State Farm Jingle and my agent showed up in the backyard. LOL. They asked what shop I wanted to take it to. I told her I will get back with them after the owner the dog gets home. I am going to let his homeowner insurance take care of it. My insurance company is the last option. When the police came to take the police report he couldn't believe it what the dog had did to my paint. He chuckled and asked did I want to use his gun. LOL. Not to offend any dog owners he was only joking.

I can't believe how many stories like this I see on this forum. It's like being a member here means you're cursed with horrible luck with your cars. I wonder if I shouldn't leave! Seems the more you try to take care of things, the more damage they sustain.
Sorry to hear of your dilemma. I had two german sheppards come to my farm and chase my cat once. Emphasis on... once. ehhhuuppp, you done chased the wrong cat today... I'd perish the thought of what would happen if they got after my car.

Just finished talking to the owner. His insurance company told me to take it to the paint shop tomorrow and they will handle it from there. And as far as the dog... he dropped it off at he pound. Glad everything is working out but I felt bad for his young daughter She didn't take the news well of getting rid of the dog.
thats too bad the guy got rid of the dog. idk if i could ever get rid of my dog reguardless of whatever it could do. i have a medium size dog so it killing someone would never happen. but something like this couldnt bring me to that decision

Nice job on the install! I hope all goes well with your paint situation. Maybe they'll find out they can't blend and you'll get an entire paint job.
Just got a call from the insurance company to take the car to David White, one of the best in the city and pretty expensive. Do you think they will honestly have to paint the whole car to match?
Poor dog, can't blame a dumb animal. At least there is insurance involved to take care of everything. Way to stay cool about it
And on the bright side, the front is usually in most need of a paint job anyway if you drive it allot. So it may come out to be a blessing in disguise.
