Hey guys looking to install a cam in an 01 Z this winter. The plan will be install a nice sounding blower cam and add a supercharger after taxes etc or next summer. Mostly likely procharger/novi/vortec
Current mods on car: 2001 Z06
Blackwing air intake -LT headers -B&B Bullet over-axle-LS7 clutch -C6 shifter -Comp Cams roller rockers/springs/push rods -GMPP wires, ceramic coated tunnel plate, C6Z06 shocks, new slave and master clutch cylinders with remote bleeder, drilled/slotted brake rotors, new couplers and bearings on the propshaft, upgraded output shafts, kevlar differential clutches and upgraded springs, and also metal end links on the swaybars.
The reason why it has springs and push rods etc was the previous owner was afraid of the ls6 spring malfunctions etc and upgraded it all. Why he didnt install a cam is beyond me lol
After doing some research I like the idea of the Speed Inc SC2.
Speed Inc Blower Street Grinds
Cam Duration Lift LSA
int. exh. int. exh.
SC1 222 228 .566 .571 114
SC2 224 232 .581 .595 114
SC3 226 234 .598 .599 117
SC4 234 240 .576 .588 114
The SC2 grind made over 700RWHP with the limitation of the stock PCM with our YSI tuner kit and Sportsman 348ci motor. SC4 for use in larger discplacement applications.
Anyone have any clips of it? Opinions on others etc?

The springs/rods/rockers can be replaced in one afternoon by merely removing the valve covers. A cam swap is an involved job that requires dropping the steering rack and opening up the engine. Plus, it won't run right without a tune.
The SC2 looks good to me as a blower cam. It has 0* of overlap, so it should have a nice little burble at idle.

Thanks!
Yea Ive done a cam swap in my Dad's C5 and my 04 GTO. Not the most fun but worth it
whichever cam u decide you cant go wrong with speed inc. they are top notch and the sc2 looks like an excellent choice for a blower cam on stock ls6. your not far, when the time comes for the blower set up an appointment with them get it installed and full dyno tuned with them as well be a nice road trip i guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face. speed inc knows boost
I'd get the SC2 of the choices you list. Mine is a Comp grind with the same numbers as the SC2, but on a 116 LSA. It doesn't have enough lope for me, so on a 114 should be pretty good.
I have the SC2 Comp cam in my 01 T/A. makes 541hp / 460tq on 8lbs. Idle sounds pretty good too. I beleive the SC2 cam now was the SC1 cam back in 2006 when I did this swap. Since then they added a smaller SC1 and a larger SC4 therefore renaming all the specs.
^^ keep ur f body junk outta here! Haha! Didnt expect to see u here dave. Anyway. Blower cams are smoke in mirrors if u ask me.. ive seen plenty of all motor cams work very well on boost setups. Needs a good header/exhaust combo. Thats about it. Doing a blower install now on a buddys ls2 c6. An a&a kit with a v3si trim. Ls2 has a 234/242, 605, 612. 112+4 cam in it now... deff not a "blower" cam.
