2001 Coupe. I gots the dreaded 1214U code! I have seen it occasionally come up and always went to history on next ign cycle and always cleared out no prob. Now, a day after installing my HID fog lights, it alarms any time the key is on and the code is persistently current. Still only 1214U. From reading the various threads I assume it's time to remove the module and get it rebuilt? Any other tricks to try first? Anything during the course of the foglight install that might have affected it? I appreciate the input!
Aside from the additional voltage drain from the new lights hitting an already marginal battery or exacerbating a ground issue.....1214 usually does mean the EBCM rebuild (but the good news is that with that it is usualy fixed and stays fixed....unlike some other codes).

Good luck
Thanks! I have read quite a few threads now and I am pretty good with VOM and soldering Iron. Im gonna take it out this weekend and run thru some trouble shooting idea's, check the grounds and all. I have been keeping the tender on the battery for the most part and the lights have not been on when the car does not run. Charging system =14.1v. I'll see what I find!
