It would think it would help keep some of the road noise down and probably some of the heat from coming up into the cabin.

Will it help damp a panel? Just as well in a convertible as a coupe.

Check out the other brands available, Dynamat is over priced compared to other products out there (thats what I found).

I was just thinking this minutes ago as I was driving home. Wouldn't it be nice to eliminate some of the noise that comes from the rear of the car. Especially exhaust noise that I get from underneath.

I realize there's some serious weight considerations in the manufacture of these cars, but this is an area I'd think 20# would be worth the loss. Jmho. Even if only offered as an option in the more sissy cars (like mine, vert/auto/...) Yea, the Z didn't even have cargo doors, so fine, let that one be loud... The rest, make em quiet.

Yep, you think they would see all the aftermarket activity and think, "Hmmm, maybe we should put some sound deadening in our cars".

DYNAMAT the weight of this is unreal plus the cost. But I did put it in my 65 vette and fully coved the floor and inside the doors. I got the light form are what ever for the 04 that the vendor in here sells. As far as heat coming thur one works about as good as the other for that along with the sound also...Robert

I own a vert and definitely think it's worth it. There was a dramatic difference in good sound (new stereo/speakers/sub/amp) and a dramatic reduction in bad sound due to the RaamAudio products I installed. I usually keep the top up on long expressway road trips and the sound is excellent. Top down, it really doesn't matter except that the new stereo pushes more bass with the sub woofer.

What about the pre cut stuff that I seen some vendors sell. How does that do? I hear every creak and rattle with the targe top off

+1 on second skin products. Their damplifier line is superior in price and quality to Dynamat. I've used it in both my 97 and my 02 along with their "overkill pro" and "luxury liner pro" with excellent results.

It helps a great deal keeping your tunnel insulated from your exhaust.
