Corvette Webblast Discussion Show

Lots of other interesting stuff.
Feedback of the show would be greatly appreciated.

This premier webblast will become a regular series in January 2013. The video was hosted by Rob Ashard, a longtime member of the CCCUK, and was recorded with Tom Falconer of Clairemont Corvette in Kent, just 45 miles southeast of London.
The show had guest Jack Humphrey via video link from Denver, CO, as well as you, Nigel, also a longtime member of CCCUK, linking in from Illinois.
The show has a general goal to answer questions from viewers about Corvette. This episode, the pilot, had dialog among the host and guests answering certain questions and talking about specific parts, functions, concepts, or what have you, about various models of Corvette. There were also a few transitions into clips about some owners and their modifications of their personal vehicles.
To the producers, I would humbly offer the following suggestions:
- The show can benefit from presenting an initial outline, with voice-over, of video stills and/or brief clips, to let the viewers know what will be covered in that particular episode.
- I would highly recommend more clips showing live interviews with Corvette owners between all the dialog segments while delineating major transitions in the program and specially to hold audience interest. Although Corvette owners want to know about their vehicles, without more video they might just as well be listening to a podcast.
- Owners would also be drawn to a few segments of Corvettes in motion – be it at the racetrack, the drag strip – even just vehicles entering a car show. This pilot video had a lot of dialog about such topics – but it would be great to see video clips that relate to the dialog as the speaker is talking, rather than just watching the guest speaking.
Good luck to you!
NOTE: On the technical side, my laptop has somewhat of a slow processor and while watching the video directly from YouTube, the video was very choppy – even though the audio was fine. Until I get a faster video card, I got around this by downloading the video from YouTube onto my laptop as an .flv file and watching that via Windows Media Player. Having connected my laptop to my TV via S-Video cable, it was like watching a regular program on TV! What a blast!!

We have more video up our sleeve, and bear in mind this is a first bash. With being happy that the technical side worked (there was a huge amount of gear there), but can also be improved, we can work more on the content. Not sure that your laptop is a happy thing as someone I know watched it streaming off Youtube in France on a very bad broadband connection, and it was smooth playback. We hope to improve the picture quality which your laptop may struggle with.
Thanks, once again for your comments, 31flavours too, and don't forget suggestions for topics.
Thanks, Rob Ashard.
