Default auto shifter ****

I'd like to swap out the stock auto shifter **** to a round one. I have seen one in a pic online somewhere but dont know where to find it to buy. I think it requires you to push down on the **** to shift because it doesnt have a button on the top like the stock one has. Any ideas or pictures would be great! thanks.

I got my adapter from Mid America, then had the Shift **** custom made.
It will make the height of the shifter about 1" taller.
Very easy and looks 100% better!!!

Well to start with you need to remove the factory **** and you do so by removing the u shaped clip that faces the front of the car, You will need a small screw driver and a small needle nose pliers to pull the pin out, After the **** if off you will have to mount the adaptor and there should be 2 Allen screws in the adaptor and you have to tighten them up equal or it will bind when you push it down.
Mr.Bill
I found the file on how to install.

This is a very easy mod. Product Innovations LLC has a lot of great ***** and he can machine them so that they sit down on the adapter. I believe he is in the process of making his own adapters now as well. Rob may even make a short adapter if requested.
type ****

I know this is not for everyone. It is my Corvette after all. I like this **** because you can put your whole hand on it with thumb over the top to push down on a shift. It was hollowed out about 3 1/4 inches so it goes down over the adapter. I am happy with it. Rob is a Vette owner so he knows the drill-no pun intended. Tell him Steve sent you.

I put a round brushed aluminum shifter on mine yesterday. Hardest part was removing and reinstalling the boot as it will reattach in a grove on the new adapter. And to do that, you will have to pull boot up inside out to expose to zip tie from the factory. Snip that and remove the boot. Your new **** should come with a spring. Slip that on over the nylon part of shift rod. The new adapter will have two set screws that will secure your new adapter to the release rod. Look down your adapter and turn the set screws till you see them on the inside but not so much they will not clear the release rod. Set the adapter on shifter and push down against the spring, turning the adapter till the set screws slide into the two groves on the sleeve that the release rod moves through. Push down enough to get the adapter into those grooves but not so far down as to release the shift mechanism and tighten the two set screws. Then take the leather boot which should still be inside out. I used a piece of wire about 5 inches in length to replace the factory zip tie. Place the boot over the new adapter, leaving about a half inch below the groove, and twist on the wire till secure. Then trim off excess wire and bend down the sharp ends that remain so they won't eventually work through your leather. Pull the boot back down, right side out and reinstall. Best of luck here, as this took me some time to get right. Just take your time and don't get frustrated is my best advice. After that, you're home free. Mine came with a washer that set on top of adapter. Then a metal cap that pressed down against top of adapter to give a finished look. Then screw on new ****. I love the more aggressive look of my new ****. I know its not "stock", but its my vette and I think it looks kick @as!
